Ao fazer o balanço do segundo ano de implementação da agenda de reformas do Banco Central, o presidente da instituição, Ilan Goldfajn, disse na semana passada ter confiança de que ela terá continuidade no governo Jair Bolsonaro. São medidas indispensáveis para injetar mais eficiência e competição no sistema bancário e para fortalecer o arcabouço institucional que assegura autonomia e transparência nas missões do Banco Central de manter a estabilidade monetária e financeira.
Segundo Ilan, já existia uma agenda de reformas microeconômicas dentro do Banco Central antes de sua posse, em maio de 2016. O que a gestão atual teria feito foi apenas aglutinar as ações em andamento, dentro do que passou a chamar de agenda BC+, e comunicar melhor as iniciativas. Essa seria uma evidência de que, mais do que resultado do trabalho de uma ou outra pessoa, trata-se de uma agenda institucional do BC.
