Os juros do cheque especial subiram novamente em março deste ano e atingiram a marca de 220,4% ao ano, de acordo números divulgados nesta sexta-feira (24) pelo Banco Central. Com isso, a taxa atingiu o maior patamar desde dezembro de 1995 – quando ficou em 242,2% ao ano – ou seja, em quase 20 anos.
Os juros cobrados pelos bancos nesta linha de crédito tiveram forte aumento nos últimos meses. No fim de 2013, estavam em 148,1% ao ano. O crescimento, portanto, foi de 72,3 pontos percentuais nos últimos 15 meses.
Cartão de crédito
Segundo o BC, os juros do cartão de crédito rotativo, que incidem quando os clientes não pagam a totalidade de sua fatura, atingiram expressivos 345,8% ao ano em março – a mais alta de todas as modalidades de crédito. É o maior patamar desde o início da série histórica, em março de 2011. O BC tem recomendado que os clientes bancários evitem essa linha de crédito.
